3d printing service
Ok so I have been modeling parts in 3D for a while now. I do not have a 3d printer and have always wanted to have some of my parts printed, chassis mainly. I have looked at shapeways but I like the ability to design my own. I recently found a website that lets you upload you design(stl) and choose a material. Then they find printing services for you based on your location. I had an item printed thru them, a camera mount for a drone. The person who printed it was less than a mile from me and it only cost about $6.00. I have priced a full chassis and it was about $10.00. This site gives you tons of options for materials and there are tons of printers to choose from. I will post a link if an admin lets me know it is ok. If not message me and I will let you know. I plan to have a chassis printed for a reveal saber. And maybe some shroud items. After I get the chassis I will post some pics. So someone let me know about the link.

I've been printing most of my own parts and only using shapeways for parts that I sell. I picked up a Monoprice Select Mini for $200 and I'm pretty pleased with it. I've used it way more than I thought I would for things around the house. I've also be doing some prop work lately so it's been really nice to be able to make custom parts for that.

Every time I print something at home, I cackle like a maniac, and utter in a thick Russian accent, " Sieze the means of production comrade".
Just kidding, but this socialist scourge of 3d printing must stop. You should buy your overpriced plastic stuff at walmart .
That was also sarcasm, or was it?

Yeah, finding someone that could print basic things like spacers and whatnot would be great.

Well here is the link. If it violates something then just delete this post. https://www.3dhubs.com
I use 123D to create my 3d models then export them as .stl for upload to the site.

You can also look for Tech Shop or other maker spaces that have equipment to rent. A bunch of them had displays at Comicpalooza in Houston this year.

Your local library may even have a printer.
