Alternatives to recharge port kill key?

I lost mine and I need to wire up some stuff. I've tried the pen reservoir method which didint work. I'm using a Switchcraft 2.1 mm

I used an old 2.1mm plug just cut the end off and made sure the wires inside weren't touching. Not the best solution but it was cheap($0) and gets the job done till you can get a better one.

A lot of people use the part of a bick pen that connects to the ink well. I'm using a part I salvaged from a mechanical pencil.

I've made one from a drinking straw. A thick plastic one from a kids drinking bottle, not one of the flimsy McD ones.

I made one out of a 2.1 mm headphone male jack. But, seeing that its metal, would it work or short anything out?
