Ok I went to their board and tried to find some info. Here's what I found: They are on v3.0 of the board. You said you had - "Raven with the first obsidian soundboard" If its version 1.0 then that would explain why they aren't dealing with it. Lots of companies large and small stop supporting legacy devices. I tried to find some specs but all I found was a simple wiring diagram for v3. One of the new features is "On board circuitry protections (against overpowering the soundboard & some short circuit protection)". Sounds like the old board doesn't have that.
The batteries you linked are 3.7v each so if the board can handle that now, maybe it is as easy as swapping out LEDs I don't know but if you can't afford a new sound card you can't afford to break this one. Its up to you. Ok enough talk about a product that isn't sold or supported on this site.
If you want to get a darker red why don't you try experimenting with some of the Colored-Discs.
Bottom line: You have a working saber. I'd keep it that way. Start a collection. Save up and build your own next time.
I think we're done here.
