This is my latest build. It took about 4 months to go from concept sketch to final build. Overall, I am really happy with how this turned out. I used stock MHS parts and materials from the TCSS, along with my own designed and 3D printed parts...the bunny ears, crystal chamber, and crystal are all 3D printed. The hilt look and feel was inspired by Ahsoka Tano's lightsaber.

The hilt was finished using automotive grade self-etching spray paint. The shroud is metallic silver with several clear coats to give the finish depth along with minor weathering. The main body of the hilt is painted in black chrome with minor weathering. I wanted something that had the "used but cared for" look. I originally has planned on polishing up the MHS shroud material to a mirror finish, but I was uncertain I could obtain that look with the 3D printed bunny ears, so the metallic silver was a nice compromise that allowed both the parts to marry up well. And I like the look of the metallic silver under the clear coat. Clicking on the images will take you to a Flickr gallery with more photos. Video to come!!
