Thread: My first attempt at saber crafting.

Default My first attempt at saber crafting.

Here it is, after months of ordering parts and gathering all info I need, my first MHS saber is finished.

    Vital Stats:
    -7.4v 18650 2600mah Battery pack
    -PCv3 with R.I.C.E. Port
    -Cree MC-E RGBW LED
    -CEX Board
    -2W Bass Speaker
-Black Wrinkle and Copper Vein Powder Coating.

When Testing out the R.I.C.E. Port I accidentally blew the red die on the LED, it won't go much past 500ma, rather than the 700ma you can do with the Rebels. I originally designed this saber to use a crystal chamber, but didn't have room for it and all the rest of the electronics. I really learned a lot and know what I will do different when I go to design another saber.

A fine looking saber. Definitely built for two-handed use.

The black wrinkle PC makes it look like you pulled it out of a furnace or something. Good job!
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Yeah, I love the way the coating came out on that. Makes it look rough and mean.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Just got the red die working and thought I'd share the two color mixes I'm using for the other 2 sound fonts.

Nice. Those colors definitely work better IMO with that design...

Yeah. I also like the overall design, I think the purple looks best giving the finish of the hilt.
