I think the black has a cleaner starting point. It's been a long time since I cut metal, but my gut wants to see more fluidity in the shroud to go along with the etching. Rather than the straight...

Wonderful detail work.
Interesting idea, and nicely executed. Congrats.
When I was in architecture school and we had to do those by hand with an X-Acto and chipboard and a big freaking copier (or lots of tape), I used to use flat aluminum flashing stock for the water...
It's a beautiful saber - a bit busy to my taste. I see it as etching for etching's sake - albeit excellently done - as the circuit pathways feel more decorative to me than functional. More like...
Absolutely amazing work.
I keep revisiting this saber, ogling the pictures and trying to come up with the right thing to say. A sting of expletives; a long low whistle; a novella on beauty and simplicity as a facade for...
That is a beautiful piece of work.
That is an amazing piece of work... wow. I went back and read through the build log again and... wow. Oh, and I softly swore a lot in addition to saying "wow". Bravo.
Very nice saber. It's got a great visual presence.
Impressive, most impressive...
I've sent one old style BH back to Tim to mill out for use with the new heat sink module... ask him for a custom work request. Worked out great.
That is one fine hardware saber... and as a fellow architect, uh, welcome. Looking forward to seeing how this saber develops.
Very nice and minimalist. Timeless and classic. Well done.
I've worked on and used some printed pieces myself; don't forget to thin the walls down inside that switch section as much as possible or you'll have a piece heavy enough to actually kill something...
Very nice with wonderful detailing.
What is the LED? There used to be a shim sold in the store (it's not there now) that went between the LED and the heat sink because when the Rebels were new tech they had a thinner base plate which...
I thought this saber was amazing. The layering, the detail, the etching... and after looking through the build pics I'm also amazed at the patience and nerve you had to have to execute this. There is...
This was a wonderful saber. The etching is excellent, and I spent a lot of time staring at the original pictures trying to figure out how much time you had to spend grinding away on the rear shroud...
That shroud piece is amazing. Such fine detail, and the texture of the etched area is fantastic. It'd hate to see it marred by a screw head.
That is a wonderful piece of art, er, work! Congratulations!
I had Tim modify one of the disks in the recharge port holder, adding in a second set of holes that lined up with the set in the NB disks sized for the smaller diameter of the ribbed section. It ends...

Very nicely done. The scarring is sweet and really makes the entire piece.
My doodles for a fallout saber never got anywhere, but I was thinking of taking some clues from handle of the Ripper and some metal cable snaking its way afterthoughtedly around the hilt. Where I got...
