why dont you just use regular 1.5V batteries for now, until you can get the good stuff?

Just dont get the 9V batteries...

Another option would be to go for a Seoul P4, they seem to be as good as a LuxV, but they are much more efficient, and dont get that hot, just a thought...

Dont knock yourself on "only" being able to do a luxIII.....there are some of us that have been using those for the last 4-5 years and have just now bought their first luxV.....though i am probably the only one. The LuxIII are just as beautiful, and for the trade off of a lower LED you probably will get a longer run time and cooler (temp) hilt. Not to mention you have to buy the sepcial charger for the LiIon bats. With the LuxIII you can use regular alkaline.

Plus for the price of the LuxV u can buy two Lux3 with another heatsink and do a quick swap setup so you can have multiple colors....

I'm not sure on the blade, but I have a thick walled frost blade and the royal is the brightest color I have (green, orange, cyan, red all lux III) and I run on 4 AAA.

Ahh, i see. Anyone know about Corbin's? So far I have reduced the film to Double to get more of the hilt flare since I like that look while still sticking with the coring effect.
