well, ive been working with it for about a year> now...
but something you should really try is the 'Noob to Pro' tutorial.
just google it or search it on the Blender homepage...

Hey, I just downloaded blender about two weeks ago to render sabers and I am completely stumped with the program. Do you have any tips? how long did it take you to get to the level you are at now?
