Default NB v1 blade LED wiring issue

So I have this wired to the manual's diagram. All works well save the blade LED that won't turn on. I've tried alternate wiring , top and bottom of the board and both pos and neg leads. The LED works when it's hot wired but, of course, it stays on once the kill key is pulled. I'm at a loss.
Left to right, top to bottom:
Blade LED + and RPort + (underside), Blade LED -, RPort - and Accent LED - (underside), Activation Switch, Activation Switch
    Accent LED +
    Speaker wires (red & purple)

Did you check to see if the board has connectivity to the blade led pads when activated? If all the connections are good and the LED works when tested, might be the board itself. If the pads have connectivity check the config file may be it got corrupted and is not initiating a blade current level.

Sounds like there is a short somewhere in your wiring.

I would redo the board wiring, and make sure you tightly twist (and trim) the wires BEFORE you solder them to the board. You might well have a bridge somewhere between the NB pads.

Not sure on that count, GH, but thank you for the attempt.

So Troubleshooting brain kicked in and I thought to check the mSD card. DERP! I'd taken it from the dead PC and, when checked, discovered a whole lot of parameters that don't belong on an NB. The led parameter is called drive and can go higher on the PC than the NB. Removed the ones that didn't count, added a couple that weren't there, tehn set all the values within NB specs.
Thank you guys for the help! It did in its way though not in the direction I thought.
