Have some, 12W, not a fan.
    Prefer tri-LED.

Tri-LED are typically preferred, because they are more efficient. "More" is not always "better" (my favorite saying).

Is there a guide somewhere comparing the luxeon tri led vs cree? Also comparisson between blade types (material, reflecting mats and pre colored blades?
Im looking to make a red lightsaber and i read that the output is lower then other colors, is there a best combo for max brightness?

No, there is no "master guide". Tri-Crees tend to be better, because they can be driven a little harder, and as a result are a bit brighter. Most everything else is subjective, to some degree.
