    Default First saber complete

    Hey everyone!
New to the forum and wanted to show my newly finished saber

The build was inspired by late medieval longswords & the Scottish claymore.
    Slightly over 15" long
Balance is so so right now, could use more weight in the pommel or a longer blade to improve handling.
Using a UltraSaber (meh) blade right now, really could use an upgrade.

Overall I'm really happy with how this turned out

    Hilt:
    MHS blade holder #24
MHS Hilt style 3 w/ 16mm recessed AV switch hole
    MHS Choke style 3 (long)
    MHS pommel 10
Sink tube shroud with chrome sanded off

    Electronics:
    Cree Star led module (red)
    16mm AV gold plated switch
    Momentary to latching converter
    Buckpuck (1000ma 4-wire)
    4 AA battery holder

    Misc:
8-32 stainless socket cap screw for the set screw
8-32 socket cap crown bolt for shroud

    Wiring:
Mom to latch board was hot glued to the side of the battery holder
Buckpuck was hot glued to front of battery holder

Very nice. Never thought of sanding off the chrome on a sinktube before. Giving me some ideas now ;o

Try finding the plain brass sink tubes, sanding off the chrome was a pain in the butt haha.
If you cant find that sand the chrome off before cutting the pipe. I sanded after doing the cut outs and had
a hard time keeping the pipe from collapsing, ending up using a 1 1/2 wood dowel rod inside the pipe to
    help support it.
