Thread: General store question on Luxeon LEDs

Default General store question on Luxeon LEDs

So in my day job I design automation and as a part of that, I designed a custom diffused on axis light for our vision systems and we happen to use Luxeon LEDs for that setup. That said, I know that Luxeon has improved their star base design (Sinkpad II), are you guys selling the Sinkpad II versions of the Luxeon LEDs? And are you also selling their current lens for the tri-star?

    P.S.
Our vision/applications engineer found it quite funny that at least on some of their older descriptions, Luxeon listed lightsabers as an application. As he knew that I was a big Star Wars fan, he made sure to tell me. I had noticed that a number of their items had Star Wars names, so it all became clear after he told me. I haven't seen it listed for some time though and I can't remember which item had it listed.

    P.P.S.
You should have seen our first prototype setup, we used a 7 LED disk...it was blindingly bright, so now we use either the single or tri's.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Thanks, glad to be here and finally taking the plunge into sabers!

Ok, assuming the pictures are up-to-date, then that answers my question, thanks for the quick reply!

The Cree LEDs are mounted on Sinkpad II stars. They're described as CopperNova style in the store.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Luxeon and Luxeonstar are not the same. One is the manufacturer of LED's.. Luxeon and the other is a retailer of LED's.. Luxeonstar.
