On the front of the saber where the blade goes through there is a small lip which is only .995" diameter so do we make it for 1" blades and require sanding that lip or do we make it for 7/8" blades?

I would think that people would want a 1" blade.

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Baby step.. unless I am overlooking something it will have a blade depth of 1.17" which is longer than a few of our kits so it will work fine. I will start prototyping it next week.

7/8" dia. blades seem to be getting more and more popular these days. This probably has a lot to do with a certain vendor's run of various movie replica sabers that all come with 7/8" dia. blade holders. There's also a vendor now for 7/8" dia. thick-walled blades (To all but the site owner, admins and mods (who already know anyway) please do not ask me who either of these vendors are because this forum is linked to a store that does not sell these vendors wares. To list their names would probably be a violation of the forum rules). 7/8" dia. would also be more a tad more movie accurate (OT, not PT). As such, I vote 7/8".

From Wikipedia: "Internet Explorer slows down GIFs if the framerate is 20 frames per second or higher and Microsoft reports that Google Chrome and Safari also slow down some GIF animations."
That's great the prototyping is next week I can't wait for the kit. I vote the 1 inch and would it be possible just to replicate the original blade it comes with but upgraded to a dueling purpose blade so it will be the same design blade and costumers buy the kit with a blade?
I have all of the black series line sabers except for yoda because I already have the old one. I can confirm compatibility for the kit on the Vader and the Kylo was easy to convert using parts from TCSS. I just recieved the Luke last night and am debating ordering the anakin conversion kit and modifying that as needed.
Andrew.. I have a Kylo but I do not have a Luke yet if you want to tear yours down and send it in.

It is easy. There is a large void in the plastic housing for you to move the sound module down into. It looks like they reused the plastic molds from when they used to have the sound module in that area.
