Thread: First saber

    Default First saber

New to the forums and saber building.

My wife and I traded, she is getting a bunch of scrapbooking stuff, and I get to start building a saber. Ordered the parts for a very simple blade to start.

Here's the renders from the builder.

Simple Rebel Star and buckpuck for the electronics. No sound...yet.

I'll start posting pictures when everything arrives.

    Welcome to the forums.

A simple saber is a great place to start. You can always upgrade it later if you want.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

    Welcome.

Good luck with your saber. What kind of switch are you using? Did you get a latcher or a mom with a converter?

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Haha that's a fair trade I think. I'm amazed that my wife is letting me throw good money at something like building a lightsaber... you know because they are so practical and it will improve our standard of living so much., not to mention its a fantastic investment that will pay for itself with equity in a few years... about as much as scrap booking lol.

I just wanted to make sure you weren't ordering a switch that wouldn't fit. The guarded switches fit although it's kind of a close fit.

Got a shipping notice and USPS says everything should come tomorrow. I know what I'm doing this weekend!
