Thread: Force Heretic

    Default Force Heretic

    Hi everyone. Let me present you my creation - custom handmade lightsaber "Force Heretic"
    Main features:
    - full size heavy hilt with crystal chamber;
    - acid etched and painted drawings;
    - acid etched and painted aurebesh inscription "The Force shall free me" - last string of Sith code;
    - real lightsaber effects - sound, lights, vibro;
    - recharge port with custom kill key;
    - accent led;
    - custom turbine blade plug.
    What's inside:
    Sound board / led driver: Spark? by Naigon?s Electronic Creations.
    Led emitter: 3-Up Cree high power LED - royal-blue, red, cool-white.
    Accent led: 3mm slowly changing color rgb led (2-pin).
    Crystal chamber led: 5mm common anode rgb led (4-pin).
    Crystal chamber: custom with clear quartz crystal.
    Recharge port / kill key: 2.1mm power jack.
    Loudspeaker: 2W bass speaker (250-20000 Hz).
    Power supply: protected 3400mah 18650 rechargable battery.
    Micro DC vibrating motor for clash effect.
    Designed and made in summer 2015. This is my first lightsaber with full functionality. All design of a hilt is thought up, developed and assembled "on a knee", almost all details is cut/machined manually. Some elements are taken from various connectors of the suitable size and a form and modified for this hilt. Simple genuine leather cover made from piece of my old jacket.
    As it appeared, own lightsaber is not difficult, and certainly better and more beautiful than store-bought conveyor substitution "as in the movie", especially when you consider the pleasure of designing and creating.
    After all, every Master of the Jedi or the Sith Lord should be his own, personally created elegant weapon.
    Good luck to all and May the Force be with You. Enjoy!

    That is amazing! '0'
    Enemies are not accidental or unfortunate. We make them, we earn them, and we nurture them, whether we realize it or not. If we can't find real enemies, we'll invent them and make them as big as we can. They become out justification for living, or excuses for our own failings. Many of us would suffer if we didn't have them- who would need Jedi if there were no Dark Force users?

    Beautiful work. What type of etching did you do (copper sulfate,saltwater, or some other material)? It looks great.
    So certain are you; always with you it cannot be done.
    Hear you nothing that I say?

    I love how deep you managed to get the etching! The texture left behind from the etching process looks awesome!

    I second the compliments/questions about the etching. It looks fantastic, how did you do it?
