Thread: would a 2.7 ohm 10w resistor work with the luxeon rebel star (royal blue) led?

    Question would a 2.7 ohm 10w resistor work with the luxeon rebel star (royal blue) led?

    as the title states would this work? cause im on a tight budget and if i get this wrong it will be sometime before i actually get the saber done so if not that would the variable resistor work? thanks in advaced! bye!

    i am not useing a sound card... yet. but my battery is a 4 aaa battery holder with jst connector!

    It will work, however, with 4AAA batteries, you will have a very short run time.

    Very short, and yes, a Li-Ion solution would be much better for you.

    would you say like... 1 hour? 2 hours? cause i got a lot of aaa/aa batteries!

    Why not use a Buckpuck? It would provide constant current as your batteries died, making your LED brightness relatively constant as you use your saber.

    buck pucks are probably not the best idea in my case because i have a short saber hilt
