Update as of April 2018:
It's been a while since I was on but I thought I'd add a few more pics of the saber after some additional work on it - mainly painting. I'm still doing some modification to it now so I'll have some more pics to follow in the next few months.

Hey, now there's something different! What a unique build. Thanks for sharing.
Okay, so that is very cool. Nice work... normally I say "I dig". I'll pass on that and just say excellent Very different from the usual.
That's really amazing work! What did you use for the wood effect on the hilt? This bad mamba Jamba is a piece of art!
Thank you for your compliments. I have a You Tube channel where I will post a video showing some pics of the saber as it progressed, but to briefly answer your question, the hilt has been made using polymer clay (Super Sculpey Firm), sculpted around an aluminium tube and then baked hard.
Very nice!
I am a big fan of the unusual, and this is certainly out of the ordinary!
Love that wood effect! I may have to try that sometime, but I can tell it would take A LOT of practice!
Very nice. For some reason to me the saber has a Harry Potter like theme mixed in as well, just how the wood like pattern is but I know its all Star Wars so. Not a bad idea to mix the 2 up though if that was the intention for I also love both =]
