Thread: which is brighter? tri-rebel or tri-cree?

Default which is brighter? tri-rebel or tri-cree?

I'm getting prepped to wire up my first saber but in finishing up my chassis design I was unsure what was brighter, the tri-rebels or the tri-crees? I'm doing GGW for a green blade with FoC and I'm using the NBv2 as my soundcard.

    The cree's are brighter.

Does that also mean that a single Cree is brighter than a single Reb?

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

To be honest I don't see a difference between the two. I have both, same color. Actually to be honest, I am irritated that I bought the Tri Cree module. Feel like I wasted my money, because to me the brightness is the same.

you really shouldn't feel all that bad. Both are excellent LEDs, capable of lighting up a blade (which is really what you're looking to do, right?).
Comparing lumens quite frankly is something that should really only be done with a light meter.
Staring into our high powered LEDs with the naked eye in general is not really a good thing nor recommended
