Would this work? This would get power to the soundboard and turn it on with the swich. Also get power to the mom/latching converter to get power to the LED. Please someone witb a bit more wiring exp than me double check this.

It's possible, but there's a big issue with wiring it that way. The econo boards have an auto shutoff feature if the saber is idle for about 45 seconds with no swings or clashes. If you set the saber down, you could easily end up with no sound and an illuminated blade. Pressing the button in this state would turn off the blade and turn the sound back on. The only way to correct this would be to do a hard shutdown with a kill key.

Ok I guess I could live with that. I plan on wiring a kill key in any way. Would it hurt the board/converter to shut them off with the kill key? If not then this issue isn't that big.

The PNP transistor completely fixes this issue, and it's a ~$2 part. No real reason not to use it. You can try it your way if you like. The kill key method won't damage anything, as it's just like pulling the batteries out.

I already have the converter that is why I wanted to try to use it

Anyone know where I can get one of these boards. There isn't a walmart or any other store within 200 miles of me that has any of the hasbro electeonic sabers. I really don't want to have to pay shipping on one of these. I looked on ebay but the cheapest I found was more than what they sell for new. Please someone help me find one of these. I can afford to get a high end card yet and would love go have some sound in my saber.

I'll be really honest with you, it isn't worth the money to try and get a cheap board. You're MUCH better off saving some money, even if it takes a while, and getting a nano. I had a saber with a cheap hasbro board and it was beyond awful. The sounds are the same cycle, the sound was fuzzy and bad, it's just terrible. If you're patient and get a nano, you'll be much more satisfied.
Honey, you've been looking for love in Alderaan places!

Yeah but there I no guaranty that there will be a nano to buy. Those sell out so damn fast. And I messaged Erv and the next batch won't be ready untill maybe mid April. And there is no way I could afford to put in a prizm. I would love to but the extra stuff I would need for it is to much. And I really don't want to have to try and put a second switch in my super cramped hilt.

Patience is a virtue in this hobby. There WILL be more NBs in stock, and they are far and away better than the cheap Hasbro boards, which as you've discovered aren't really that much cheaper in terms of cost. Trust me on this. Just put in the request to be notified when more NBs come in stock, be patient, and save up your pennies for when it becomes available again. You won't regret it
