    Question Stupid Cree/Luxeon Question

I only have experience with the Tri-Rebel, but for the single dies why does it seem to have four soldering pads instead of two?

It gives the newbies a "second chance" pad.

Aw, how thoughtful of them. Thanks for the information.

Actually those pads are there to make it easier to wire several leds in series.

Another silly question just for the Cree: I see four pads. Two are clearly labelled + and -. Two are not labelled and are in between, so for the picture above, which is it?

    1. Positive pads on the top / Negative pads on the bottom?
    2. Positive pads on the left / Negative pads on the right?

Right side is negative and left side is positive. If you look closely you can see the T shape bridging them.

Funny, when I look dead-on, I can't see it, but when I look at my LCD monitor at an angle, I see the T-shape. I guess my monitor isn't dialed in well. Thanks for the information!

Nah, that's normal behavior for LCD monitors with colors that are very close to each other.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.
