Thread: My Second Saber

    Default My Second Saber

This is my second saber. I built the first one for my son's 15th birthday a couple weeks ago. Here is that thread:

After seeing his brother's saber, my 12 year old wanted one as well. I was anticipating this so I already had a lot of the parts I needed to fix it. Like the first one, I created this one using sink tubes. I did sand the chrome to give it more of a brushed nickel look. The blade was created with 85 5mm leds. It has electronics out of a Luke Skywalker bladebuilder lightsaber. The power comes from a 3100mah 18650 3.7v rechargeable lithium-ion battery with recharge port. I learned a lot about what not to do on the first one, so this one only took about a week and a half to build. Here are some pics of the finished lightsaber.

These sink tube sabers are really quite amazing.

Do you have a "how you did it" video or tutorial?

Thanks guys. No, I don't have a tutorial or video. I just looked online at different lightsaber hilts to get some ideas of what I wanted to do. There are so many different styles that people have created! I just combined a few different ones into this one.
