Thread: Which color is closer to Darth Vader's lightsaber color?

Default Which color is closer to Darth Vader's lightsaber color?

So my plan is to get the Luxeon rebel star when converting my ESB Vader saber. Problem is, there are two (three actually, but I know the orange is not as accurate) different versions of the red.
Are there any comparison shots of what a deep red saber looks like vs. what a plain red saber looks like? And, does anyone know which one is more accurate for Vader?
Sorry for all my questions guys, but this is for the 501st, so I'm trying to make sure I get everything 100% correct.....

It depends. Red is a "brighter" color, Deep Red is "darker" and a little less bright. in the movies, though the blade is "red" the shade varies a minor amount. With that said, I (and some of my friends) have used Deep Reds and love the color.

Here is a good recent example of a Deep Red:

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before... you want blindingly bright, super loud, running 1138 blinkies off of the cheapest sound card you can find AND you want all of it to run on a battery the size of a dime, and run for a very, VERY long time. That one cracks me up every time..."

Hmm, so really either would work? Because the deep red actually looks pretty close, although if the normal red is brighter I would like to see what it looks like.... are there any examples on here of a normal red?

I'm sure that if you go through the gallery, you will come across some. Everything is subjective - everyone's eyes see something slightly different.

After looking through the gallery: Man it is hard to choose! I like how Dark and menacing the Deep Red looks, but the brightness of just the plain Red looks pretty magnificent.... I don't know... this is something I'm going to have to think about lol.
