    Default My first build, "Badwolf"

First off I would like to thank everyone for the advice and tutorials that helped me create my first(already planning a second) MHS saber.
I would also like to thank Madcow for his awesome "shatter point " font. It goes really well with the Rebel "royal blue" LED.
I'm a huge Dr. Who fan so i would like to think of it as tardis blue.
only took a few pics. so without delay........i give you "BadWolf"

    first layout of parts...

    set and wired....

switch wiring, had to change the momentary to latching....

    speaker wired

i was a bit nervious soldering the PC

    all wired up......

    its working.....its working......

i don't have a final pic but i will post when i get a good one.

Good pics so far. Do you plan some paintings, overlays or powdercoating ?

this being my first build, i wanted to keep it simple.
i will probably do a more advance build for my 2nd
    or 3rd i.e: crystal chamber, accent LED......overlays.
not to concerned about powder coating.

I will be posting a short video and more pics in a few
    days.

Curious as to why you had to change the switch to latching? The PC is configurable for either.

Nice. But do you always need a chassis if you're using PC-U? I plan on using PC-U and the 14500 pre-wired pack. Thanks for the velcro idea though.

You don't "need" a chassis, but it is defiantly a good idea to create one to hold everything secure and neat. At the very least, you need to ensure that your PC is insulated from touching the metal hilt to prevent shorts and it and the batteries are secured from rattling around to prevent damage from dueling. Construction of chassis, regardless of the materials used, seems to be the most efficient means of ensuring the electronics won't be damaged.

I just finished Season 1 of Dr Who the other day, so when I saw the title Badwolf... I knew I would love it!

    Nice, looking good!
My favorite color may be red, but my lightsaber will always be true blue.

It helps quite a bit. There are several tricks to making sure your electronics don't get damaged. Also, a chassis helps to insure that your saber is more durable in a fight.
