    Talking Atok Mhar by LDM

Atok Mhar, a Custom MHS-based saber by LDM

A friend of mine asked me if I could reproduce a design that he had cobbled together from 3-4 other sabers that he had seen. The picture that he gave me was a mix of Kota's saber, some part of a Vader's Vault saber, a ribbed section and a wrapped grip section. Out of respect for the Vault crew, I did not re-create their section that was pictured, but I did a whole new shroud design instead. I did semi-borrow the switch placement however (you'll see in the build pix). Anyways, he wanted the saber to have a satin/matte weathered look (which I am always happy to provide), a red LED and an MR soundboard. I made him a custom grip section and pommel, then machined a ribbed grooved section into a unique design and a windowed BH into a version of itself with a ringed/flanged emitter. Finally, he wanted a leather or faux leather grip. He has already seen the hilt, but not the finished saber so here it is, enjoy:

    The Specifics:

Heavily modified MHS-based hilt w/custom pommel
    Hand cut shrouds
    MR Sith Sound
    Seoul P4 red
    Delrin black AV switch
    (2) blue-red blinkies under the shroud
    Red Crystal Pommel
    3.7V Li-ion w/recharge/kill in pommel
    LDM crystal-tip kill key
    Faux leather grip
    triple baked matte weathered finish

amazingly done. does triple baking help a lot? what advantage does it over have single baking?

Awesome....I really like the MHS mods on this one. And of course, the great weathering!

Rahm Kota went to the darkside! Very cool indeed.

Triple baking means that there are 3 layers of clear coat. Each layer is baked on separately so the finish is VERY durable. Not quite as durable as Powder coating, but Caine can tell you how durable it truly is since he uses the V2 that I made for him nearly every day and it looks the same asthe day ti came out of the oven!

Thanks everyone. From the comments I can tell that I have achieved my goal with this one
