Yeah something like that should do the ticket! :D
It can be done indeed. It's more or less a better practice to make a battery pack out of unprotected cells so both cells can hooked up to a PCB protection board that will protect the battery from...
Unfortunately, it's one of those hard to find but highly sought after items. Currently either scavenging MR/Hasbro Sabers or using 1/32" foam wrap are all we got for the time being.
looks good!!!
glad to hear you got it squared away!!! Why not a before and after paint? ;)
Although I haven't tried it- just by looking at it I can tell you- not easily. They would likely barely touch.
I wouldn't recommend heatshrinking everything for what FJK mentioned as well as any maintenance or upgrades you ever do on your saber.
I used this kind of tubing-...
FWIW: I had a build once very similar to this- (CF, CEX, RGB LED, 7.4v 18500 pack, with full ports etc..) the switch boxes are handy but will still eat up alot more space than you might think-...
Sorry for the late reply- But I was having the same exact issues and symptoms you're currently experiencing. Everything worked fine and was wired up correctly and quite well- I rewired the boards,...
Yep, Check everything first. Especially if you're pack is custom made- sometimes there might be a unwanted connection there- learned that the hard way myself!
it will work just fine, cut out the other leads and just wire it up like you see in the diagram :D
Tim said it is on the list of things to design, just takes time to develop the parts... so maybe after current parts are more stocked
Great work! +1 on the graflex inspired look, loving the way you did the weathering as well!
hehe welcome to the family for sure man! :D it's home.
I REALLY dig your PVC shroud. It does look abit like bone after the sanding... Will be a wonderful saber once it's finished! :D
Green would make it more of a yellowish *as close to film accurate* FOC as possible. White would be very cool as well. It really depends on what you're going for.
not sure really on the math much there for the string blades... but i do own a makoto string blade saber although i'm not sure how many LED's he build the blade with i could easily see 60-70 in...
not sure about the ultra graflex tbh... if its a 10-32 thread it should screw right on just fine. But if you were looking to make a actual button switch out of it- it's also possible but would...
last week when i emailed Tim he said they were a few weeks out yet. Although you could build your own quite easily too if that's something you're up to!
14500 will work fine, 14650's as well. it...
Eastern!! my main man!! Dude it seriously has- about 5 years :O you too brother
THAT was a genius idea, can't believe I didn't think of that before! I only bought 8 of those chassis disks lol  With a bit of sanding to the disk i was able to test fit it, and it...
Hey guys! It's been a LONG time and it's great to be back... Now this isn't so much a technical question- but more of a physical placement question.
So I have been designing a new saber for a few...
using li-on packs will completely shut off the saber once it reaches a certain level of power (or lack thereof). I've never known li-on packs to use a slow discharge method like Ni-Mh packs which...
okay cool yeah you can definitely do a quad set up. would you be running sound or anything?? If not you might have to have some fun with wiring in resistors.
Essentially to wire these bad boys up...
That's sick!! great job
Cant say for sure about the v3 plus- But it should be slightly heavier (if even noticeable at all)
In my opinion I think a 10w or something is plenty bright- when combined with a very well made...
