I didn't prime it and only lightly wiped it...
Fantastic! I love it!
I'm in process of designing my own Sith Warrior armor set right now. HOPEFULLY I get to build it this year.
So far, in hind sight, I would have used a boost circuit to use just one cell and be able to drive the full 700mA on the leds. I also would have taken the time and spent the tiny extra money on...
Thought I'd update everyone on the progress. I got the soldering bug again and am now super super close to finishing this beast. I just need that hot glue... wife took it out of town to make some...
Storm Trooper Saber.... added to list. haha
HAHAHA yeah I know... it's hideous with those 1/4W metal oxide resistors... I actually did use an 0603 resistor on my timer, but the REAL reason is...
Thanks everyone! I'm enjoying where this is going, and I'm glad you guys are too!
I've just finished soldering my power meter. It's nowhere near as clean as the one for sale on TCSS, but ... I made...
Thought I'd add some pieces I've finally worked on.
Here's the blade plug! Made from salvaged parts from a DVD ROM tray and a custom copper gasket... oh and a small piece of extra blade. :)
10573...
WOW... just WOW That looks amazing so far!
Makes me want to so badly do a real saber... but I really should just finish my PVC saber first. :p
lol 350C li ion would be ... exciting...
I've never had a li ion get warmer than luke warm room temp... maybe 30C (86F). Except for one time... Didn't mean to, but I did some arc welding with a...
Welcome!
I love the antique old republic feel to this. Very well done! I love it!
think of it as a very long saber blade.... ?
well done mate! Looks awesome! What's the duty cycle?
Well done mate! Have been looking forward to seeing it complete! I'll have to talk to RHD about that driver... I just built a 2W,which is awesome... but the next step is 5+ for me as well. It will...
Holy crap man... 5.5W! Can't beat a free driver! They can be pricey! I've always built my own linear driver... not ready for building boost circuits yet.. even though I have components for it. The...
Did you have DTR include the driver? Have you metered that bad boy yet?
Also, since you did adhesive, why adhesive instead of simply thermal compound with a set screw or something? Just curious...
hahaha thanks for the chuckle SS
lol no no, the question was if finances was a big deal. I know many have spent money like that and I'm sure I would if I had it... but finances is still too big a...
hahaha this isn't about that F word... (finances/financial/finance/etc), cause if it were... who spends a hundred on a lightsaber/laser? needless to say a grand!
For the housing, is it the Aixiz,...
Is it the M9x0.5 thread for the lens? I picked up a bottom thread bit for those... still haven't used it :) I have a couple lasers I need bigger focus rings for.
By the way, that hilt looks great!
Sweet!
I'm still trying to weather mine... I just hate messing up that beautiful surface and paint... :/
That's really quite gorgeous! Well done!
One of these days I'll build a nice looking one. haha
Thanks SS! After I add some weathering, I'm hoping this will look even more like real copper in the flesh. Imagine though how cool a solid copper emitter would be! ... And how expensive ... :)
Found some auto paint I had custom matched for motorcycle... so I pulled out my airbrush and some other spray cans and laid out some colors on the hilt! I did SOME weathering, but there is still more...
Agreed :D
When I have money and I'm ready to do an MHS saber, I'm definitely going to have to get a Plector. the Hasbro is awesome for now, but the refined look of an MHS needs sounds to match
Ok. well still - good job! From my own experience, it sure is rewarding to put things like that together and code it and have a working product in the end!
