Thanks Bones again for the save. I used the image you made for someone who needed help on Facebook. Thanks for that as well!!
Colin, I didn't remove the resistor. Nothing was removed, except for...
Oh damnnn. Geof you are a genius.
Though, I regret to inform you. The saber has been butchered lol.
Still have the soundboard, but the battery pack was scrapped for use in some other projects.
Thanks for the cover Emperor Vader.
Been busy with school. Haven't been checking this forum lately.
Gonna get me a conversion kit for this bad boy soon as well.
Hey Bones, sorry for the late reply.
For this, I reused the original blade holder. It was such a hassle, but luckily I'm getting the conversion kit tomorrow and dropping that in.
Already have...
Which is what confuses me when people use tri-crees. They are going to run fully lit.
But is their a difference between a tri-cree running at %50 percent and a single cree running at %100?
Hey Bones, sorry been shopping like crazy as Tim knows lol. So many orders.
Picked up a Havoc as well, and been stalking other forums.
I personally love the slit. The selling point for me. I...
Awesome!
Will add that resistor as well.
Thank you :D
I was just confused that they didn't use a resistor for the wiring.
I'm still gonna use mine.
Finished my wiring diagram. Excuse the messiness. I have no artistic talent what so ever.
If I...
The kit would make it a lot easier.
Their is someone on FB who offers conversions and he uses tri-cree for his clients. Not sure about the F.O.C though. I don't think these boards support that.
Hey all. Since my Hasbro BS Luke ROTJ conversion was a bust, I'm doing a full conversion on this bad boy.
G/G/W Tri-Cree with a NBv3
Now I know that I can use .47ohm, .5 watt resistors, which I...
Doesn't really tickle my fancy
It's missing that slit that allows light to bleed through. That's like one of the coolest factors of the saber and graflex in general
I've thrown the towel on this.
I've removed all the old wires, and soldering newer better quality ones.
Still same result.
I'm gonna do a full conversion instead now.
I also had to rewire the power/battery back thing since I needed to shorten it, so the board and led housing could fit ...
I'll get a pic tomorrow. To tired and piss right now lol
It's the stock soundboard, and a single green cree xpe-2
This is the 3rd hasbro bs conversion I've done which has me befuddled.
I wired...
I'm in a bind. After wiring everything up, the saber powers up but instantly shuts off.
I'm guessing that the Triple A's (x3) setup doesn't provide enough juice to power the LED or the soundboard. ...
Yes. When you go under the XPE-2 Cree section on the TCSS store you will see the optic and lens holder.
The lens holder will have to be sanded a bit to fit into the 1" heatsink
Hey all again. Been spamming these conversions lately for the Black Series FX Lightsabers.
This is too much fun.
Picked this up at GameStop yesterday for $100, with the sole purpose of converting...
Damn really?
I just took apart.
It comes off after taking apart the control box. Just twist the blade and push down.
Anyone have any experience converting the ROTJ Black Series FX Lightsaber.
I just got it from Gamestop for $100, and have the need to convert it.
Is it true that in this one, the emitter doesn't...
Thanks for the info.
I picked up the BS Luke VI at Gamestop today for $100, and it's the next one I am going to convert, and wasn't sure if it followed the same procedure as the older versions.
Finished!
Little things to note
No need for a resistor, had an issue that was solved when I clipped the resistor off
The most annoying thing was that my 1" heatsink didn't fit anywhere, so I...
Very nice Bones. One step at a time.
No resistor is needed, I learned that the hard way. I had everything assembled ready for testing, and the thing wouldn't power up. I had to disassemble...
Hey all. So I decided to also convert my Black Series Vader
For right now this is just the disassembly and primary wiring
So first of all, remove the screws on the shroud ...
A thought just occurred to me. I realized these LEDs string blades aren't resistored, as it looks like.
Will I need to add a resistor to my blue cree, or is it fine without?
I know for the red...
I'll be doing my conversion soon, and I'll take pics of the process. I may do the disassembly later today.
I'll be using a single cree in deep red though.
Don't think you can use a tri-cree that...
