Heya Tim,

Unfortunately, none of those blade holders let light through those holes. They are just meant to be aesthetic/decorative. The BH's that allow light to shine through would be styles like #19 and #22
This was also going to be my recommendation. The 14670's (or even 145650's) will allow for more discharge and help you with the FoC as well. BUT, always trust FenderBender over me; just saying ;)
A FJK classic!! If you were a Sith and weren't carrying this, I'd immediately know you were some kind of cyborg. :D
Looks like it might need another upgrade for some FoC? at some point. However, I...
Yes, please provide us with some things like what Forgetful Jedi Knight asked for. Also, pics ALWAYS help situations like this. ;)
Usually, mixing with the LEDengin's doesn't result with a dimmer...
Wait, start with answering this: Why did you have a buckpuck wired up in conjunction with the PC? The PC already has an integrated LED driver.
First off, I just want to tell chicago.jedi that you did a really nice job on this! There are so many people who get lazy and just leave dirty or jagged edges. Way to put in the work!
I'll echo...
Ahh my mistake. That's what I get for answering questions right after I wake up, lol.
Unfortunately, the link you posted won't work at a shroud piece. It won't fit over the MHS part. If you'd like a shroud piece, you will most likely need to cut it yourself. You can buy some shroud...
I've order from TCSS numerous times. When I haven't ordered any custom services, the longest I've had to wait until an order shipped was like 2 days (due to weather). I'd say that the time your order...
I'm converting a Saberforge saber right now for a client. I have done a few in the past as well. I have noticed major corner-cutting when it comes to details. In the past, the hilts are always...
Welcome! Hopefully this will help you out:
1) I would recommend a 700mA buckpuck. The red Rebel's usually don't really like a constant current of over 700mA. ;)
2) If you use "standard" AA...
If you use 4 rechargeable NiMH batteries (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/AAA-1000mAh-NiMH-Rechargeable-battery-P475.aspx) you will be okay. It would probably be a good idea to use a resistor going...
Correct. You don't need to add any additional swing sensor(s).
Keep up the good work! Things like soldering and wire usage/management will all come in the the more you hone your skills. I think this is a nice first saber and you should use it to keep moving...
It's a combination of using Aluminum Black and a clear coat ;) I don't want to elaborate too much.
I remember them as well. I'm not sure why they aren't there. I seem to remember Tim might have saying they were only for a limited time, though.
Thanks guys! I appreciate the nice words!
Hey, you never know until your try. This was my first one ;)
Hey fellow saber enthusiasts! I've been here and there for a little while and it's been a while since I posted a complete build. Well, I'm back and here's my most recently completed project.
The...
Check out the "3 Watt conversions" area on here. It shows how you would hook the main LED to those boards. ;)
No problem. Happy building!
Here's a VERY useful thread on here regarding recharge ports. There is a ton of good info throughout the thread: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?2235-Recharge-port-hookup

Yup, it can be done for sure. It makes it much easier if you use one of the "short" momentary or latching AV switches.
I appreciate the feedback as well. I'm looking to get one sometime in the near future; most likely when the "new" batch is out.
The Black Chrome is kind of difficult to accurately capture on camera. From my experience, I think the black chrome is a great "gun-metal" shade.
