I had that thought as I was lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for the paramedics to show. Yes, I now have enough titanium in my legs to set off metal detectors, but I'm not in a...
Thank you, Ridire; I'm surprised anyone remembers me. I didn't finish that build... or haven't, yet. I had a seizure, fell down some stairs, and shattered both ankles. So I've had other things to...
Hey, folk.
Previously, there were a couple of different OWK hilt kits in the store, but I see that they're now gone. Is this a permanent change, or should I keep checking back?
Because it's not mentioned anywhere here, I just want to check... you're aware that the ribbed sections have a smaller internal diameter, yes?
Nah. This is my low-energy cousin we're discussing. He'll use it for modeling for pictures with cute girls at conventions.
I have a 3/4" polycarbonate rod that I've been using for years with an old hilt as a boken. I'm thinking I may give it to my cousin as a day blade to use with his Qui-gon saber. But the Master Q...
Much better, thank you. 8)
That's a nice start... will the "belly scales" have light shining out through them?
Hey, look at those photobucket "we're not going to show you the image!" images! That's some super-cool saberwork, there!
Thanks for all the awesome, informative responses, gang!
So, I'm sure that some of you attend conventions, and no doubt, some of you fly to those conventions. I'm curious how you bring your lightsabers along. Do you pack them in checked luggage? Does that...
Gnifti!
And way to inspire the next generation of geeks! 8)
That's quite doable. I wonder if maybe the top bubble shroud should be just a hair lower, though, so it doesn't hit the side of the blade.
Thanks for the practical advice, fellows!
My answer is: I don't know. It might be better for you to email Tim directly; he's always been great about responding quickly to me.
Hi, folks.
I'm building a Master Q hilt for my cousin, so he can theoretically do a QGJ with The Rebel Legion. That means a green blade. I am, of course, looking at setting it up with a Photon...
Hey, Mellex! Welcome!
I haven't done a maglight saber myself, but my understanding is that if only the first few inches are illuminated, your beam may be too wide. Is there a focus ability with...
Looks good! And now, at cons, you can ask people, "Want to see my etchings?"
Remember that both deep red and royal blue use some of their energy in non-visible wavelengths of light, so they won't be as bright as red / blue.
There's also the possibility of using electrical tape folded over on itself as a mask to keep solder from overrunning the place where you're working.
Happy to help.
I'll want you to post pics, of course! 8)
It's a shame you don't live closer... I think you and I could be friends. 8)
Heh. I just realized... you're a quilter!
Schweet! I'm quite taken with it. Where did you end up putting the switch?
I haven't done it yet, but I'm looking at Grip Style 2. Of course, I'm not using a graflex replica; I've got a Blade Holder Style 20 v2, and I'm planning to use a double-female extension with...
Unfortunately, it has been my experience that digital cameras do not properly capture the color of something which is giving off light.
