Thank you all . Thank you J-Lo, I have a set screw holding my led assmbly in place. I haven't had any illumination issues with that set up. It's been suggested that I try wrapping aluminum tape around the copper end cap to help center it better. Sorry I don't remember who suggested it but it's a great idea. I just haven't gotten around to picking some up.

wow, i stopped by the hardware store today on my lunch break to grab that aluminum strip.
1/16" is a lot thicker than i thought, LOL.
but i'll be making a template and attempting to dremel the bunny ears out soon! thx again.

if its not thick enough it will fold over and crease easily.. I think you shouldnt have any trouble once you get your template and cut into form, good luck

What I did was trace the template on the aluminum strip. I placed the template right up against the edge so I already had one striaght edge. I used tin snips to cut the basic shape of the bunny ears. Then used my sanding drum on my dremel to round out the corners. I put the cut piece in my vice & made the first bend 90 degrees, & just started the second bend. removed it from my vice & finished bending it by hand. I tried using a thinner piece of aluminum, it was to bendy. The 1/16th" stuff is pretty solid.

thx again for the tips man.
i'll be giving this a shot hopefully tomorrow.
how did you go about mounting it?
i know you said you cut two slits into the tube, then fed it through, but did you do a weld or something on the inside of the tube where it mounts?

I just pushed it throught the slits. Actually the slits were a bit longer than the bunny ears, so I used layers of crazy glue to fill the gaps, then sanded it down once it dried. I had to sand down the end of the pvc to make room for the bunny ears.

finally got a chance to cut out a template and dremel out my bunny ears from that strip of aluminum.
i haven't buffed it out or put the bends into it yet but just wanted to say thx again, it's gonna work perfectly!
