does anyone have an idiot-proof way of ending the movement of the internal electronics...i'm nervous about just shoving anything up there...any ideas and pictures would be a great help...

I just take a piece of electrical tape and wrap around each end of the battery holder, and add layers until it fits snugly. You have to mess with it every time you change batteries, but it really isnt that much of a hassle and costs about a penny.

Electric tape works well, here is another option. I have used foam tape in the past and it hols stuff in place pretty well and keeps things from banging around.
