I have Comcast digital high-speed, so... I never notice much of any wait time.

And yes, I think I know what you mean about the https... SOMEtimes, when you've just ordered from Tim, or you've logged in to the STORE-side of things... if you move to the chat/threads/whatever... you might end up still in an https setup. That's why logging out and then back in might have made a difference.

Makes no difference to me. More security is more security anyhow.

I have a comcast static business line in my house so its not my connection. It seems to be remembering some cookie from the saber shop site, like mentioned above. No big deal, I just refresh my login and it's all good.

But running in https when not needed creates a new session states for each user, which in turn causes major overhead and processing for the server running the forum and everyone else using the site.

Heh, I could hook the owner up with some .net forum software for around $99 and this site would run snap of the fingers quick. But thats not what I am here for

Any comments on .net vs. php?

p.s. also on final note. When you're in https, which means a secure connection, all data is being transmitted in 128-bit encryption. So every post that gets submitted on the board is being sent, encrypted, received and then unencrypted. Good for a bank or financial institution of some sort.

Ok, thats enough from me. Coffee gets the wheels turning in the am hours.
