this thread on the subject, suggestions include:
Use a C Clamp to press the two sides of the switch plates together. That should reduce the pressure on the pin and allow it to slip out with pliers.
Wrap tape around the clamp and plates to prevent scratches.

Some guys have been successful pushing the pin out using a nail punch and hammer.
Put it in a bench vice to create a solid base. Clamp the switch to remove tension on the pin. Seat the punch on one end of the pin and tap the punch lightly with a hammer to push it through.
Again, Protect your saber with layers of tape.
