Thread: Quick connect/disconnect for double sabers ??

  1. #1

Default Quick connect/disconnect for double sabers ??

I seem to recall the discussion before and am at work with no time to do a search so.........**Tenric ducks for cover** [:I]

Has anyone come up with a reliable and sturdy quick connect/disconnect method for joining two hilts into a double saber?

I really want to do one if this obstacle can be overcome.

Reality often interferes with what would otherwise be an idyllic delusion.

I remeber seeing a thread about this, but I don't think anyone had a fast method.

Let me see if I can find it.

    EDIT: Here's one, http://thecustomsabershop.com/sabers...p?TOPIC_ID=167

I would imagine some kind of snap together with buttons for release.

I can imagine it, but I haven't seen it yet.

$10 says someone who I flamed, will come onto here confused as to why I didn't flame Tenric.

Here's why: He said he has no time to do a search at work. Not lazy, just pressed for time. Saying "I'm too lazy to search" Is just like saying "I'm covered in Gas, anyone got a Cigarette I can bum?"

I think a twist and lock type of method might work, with a spring to keep tension on the parts to keep them together.

Don't worry... if I remember the topic correctly it never got anywhere terribly great. The problem was getting the holes lined up. I don't think there is anything that will be "fast" and sturdy at the same time.

yes, but to solve that wear problem, you use spacers made from nylon, which can be purchased at any hardware store. then when they wear out and become loose, you run to hardware store and grab some more. might have to paint them to a certain color or something, but it would be a cheap way to make the twist -n- lock type connection work.

or you could use a connecter like tims with larger threads so it only takes 1 turn to disconnect

sound holes at the bottom of the hilt would do it.....could be workied into a pattern/design easily.

    ALSO:
on the lining up thing. Is it really needed?
If you fight with them either separately or joined it might be a moot issue wouldn't it?
