the only problem is, i can't get the diffuser out. it's like its somehow glued to the tip of the saber

You don't have to take the diffuser out, just the foam. The easy way to do it is glue the back and take a 3/4 or 1/2 inch dowel and use it to push the mirror in.On stock blades the tip and diffuser are glued together
Oh, you bought a converted MR from Ultra, then you don't have the foam diffuser that is around the led strip inside the blade don't pull on the other diffuser. You will have to use a wooden dowel to push the mirror in the blade.

thanks do-clo, yeah, i guess ultra fixed this one pretty good but not perfect. I have an unconverted anakin saber as well that i will be converting with tims conversion kit. I don't notice the blade diffuser as foam but i guess i'll find out when i open it up won't I?

When you take the blade apart on the anakin you will see the foam that holds the leds and acts as a diffuser also.

i wonder if the saber with the MR LED's would look brighter without the foam, although i don't really wanna have to put the saber back together without converting

by the way, has anyone tried installing a mirror into the tip of an MR blade?

yes i have, in all my MR conversions
edit- o and btw, if you want to take the tip/diffuser out of the mr blade, heres a tip, cut off at least 1 inch from the bottom of the tip and the use some plyers and pry out the inside of the tip then use a file to smooth out the bottom of it. []

I think I'll go with the whole useing the foam idea. trying to get the diffuser out is too much trouble. i'm just trying to get a mirror on the tip. I'm still not sure which i would rather use, the mirror or the aluminum adhesive disk. Whats the difference?
