Thread: Battery Question

    Default Battery Question

    I bought a 7.4-volt 800-mah Li-ion battery pack.

Will it power an all-white Rebel Tri-Star wired in series?

The typical forward voltage on the Luxeon page is given as 8.7, which I assume is for all three LEDs together.

    Thanks for the help.

It'll likely light up, but it won't be running at maximum brightness. If it's possible, you'd want to rewire the Tri-Star to operate in parallel, or at least bring it down to just two in series.

    Thanks for the helpful reply.

I haven't begun soldering yet. So if wire the same battery in parallel, it'll work?

Rewire the LEDs, not the battery pack, assuming it's possible.

Sorry, I meant if I use that same battery, and wire the three LEDs in parallel, will the battery itself be a good power supply?

    Thanks again.

That battery will be plenty sufficient for three LEDs wired in parallel.
