Thread: Using Force Trainer Toy to activate Saber?

Default Using Force Trainer Toy to activate Saber?

I'm completely new to this site. I've been wanting to build a saber for a month or so and I've been reading as much as I can here. I've seen a lot of ideas about activating sabers with things like magnets, remote controls and RFID's. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the Star Wars Force Trainer toy from a number of years ago to interface with a saber? Maybe it could be something like a training saber that won't activate unless the user can achieve a certain level of concentration? I've never owned the toy, itself, so I don't know how well it works, or if the necessary components would be too large to fit in a saber. I just thought it might be cool to use that head set as a way to control the saber somehow.

Here's a link to the toy if you're not familiar with it.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

It's an interesting idea. To my knowledge, no one in the saber community has done what you're suggesting. Feel free to give it a shot and report back your experience.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Thanks, Sidd. Looks like you saved me about $115. To bad it doesn't work.

Thanks, Zacharyah! That looks pretty cool. I forgot about that site. It's got some really cool stuff. I might give it a shot, but not until I get good at the basics first. If I ever get the head set to interface with a lightsaber, I'll be sure to post the results!
