Well, not owning one of those Darth Vadar saber toys, I can't be 100% sure, but since it has a red plastic blade, it probably has a white light on the inside, and most likely not a very bright one so I wouldn't expect any note-worthy blade illumination with that polycarb blade. Aside from that, you'll have to deal with removing the plastic blade and installing the polycarb. Once again, not owning that saber, I can't say what the diameter of the blade socket is, but if it isn't a good fit for the new blade, it could be a pain in the butt to install and if you're using the light that comes in the saber, you'd have to make sure you install the new blade where the light will shine down the blade.
If your budget is really low, I think you might just be better off using the original saber without modifying it.
