Your first design is more of a blend of the movies while your second is a new design in it's own right. If you want more of a classic look, go for your first. If you want a more personal one, use your second design.

I love the BH on the 2nd one by itself, still have to find a saber that it looks good on (personal op). I like the 2nd one for an original design...not 100% sure about the BH though.

The second one for sure, especially if that slotted extension is gonna be used for a crystal chamber.

First design I've ever made that I actually liked BH19 on. At 9.25" it's extremely limited on interior space, and obviously for a short saber, but I like it a lot.

Awesome. Then definitely that one. And if I may, I say amber. There aren't enough amber sabers out there.

then you will like mine ; )
i like your second design. its like a "no frills" mace windu. like if he had to rush-build one in the field like obi did for his ROTS saber.
very cool. that said, purple would be amazing.

just noticed, where do you plan on putting your switch(es)?

Well initially, it would just be a display piece. Somewhere down the line, tho, if i were to upgrade it, i would put in a momentary illuminated switch in the center of the 3" fluted section, which i think would look awesome.
