Hey guys... New guy here... Been researching my rear off lately and cant wait to start building my first saber...

Decided to go with a luxeon saber... Red.

then my second will be an Amber... Is it normal to think about your second one...?

Anyway. I just started getting into Costuming a year ago and almost have my Custom Mandalorian done for the Mando Mercs and getting going on my Darth Nihilus... so with him in mind i needed a saber...

so thats where i stand... Tons of info on here and cant wait to get started...

Welcome! It is quite common to have a few sabers in mind. I built my first one a little while ago and I have the next one on the drawing board. But I'm always messing around with MHS builder, comming up with new ideas for future projects.
Be aware...It is an addictive hobby...

yea still doing research... seeing if this works out, but want to go with:

rebel star - Red - Luxeon is out of stock!

lens holder
Ultra soundboard or a Crystal Focus Saber Core V5
clash and swing sensor
speaker
And still researching motors...

Not sure what else I'll need or wont need other than a switch and maybe add some accent leds down the line when its time to build.

Your off to a great start!.. but the problem with those soundboards is the very very very low avaliability, why not go with something you can get "right in town" so to speak and is easily replaceable should some unforseen issues arise. The 2010 Hasbro toy Lightsaber (with dvd) Soundboard is pretty decent+add Tcss Speaker, especially for the price ($16). then you can switch out the better soundboards as they become available.. that's a compromise that will get your project off paper and into your hand a lot quicker(and cheaper). but Welcome

I started with one I now have 7! & havn't finished the first yet, hopefully will do over Yule, but it could end up being saber design 6 or 7.
The sound boards are going to be your sticking point.

welcome! ^_^ and don't worry about having 6 or 16 ideas waiting to be built. it's a fun hobby and i'm sure you'll have fun just tinkering with everything. ^_^ can't wait to see your first build!
