The problem with doing it any way other than the way that Wesley did it is that it tends to droop and sag after a couple hours of trooping and does not look nearly as "full". The foam is more of a support structure.
I was very sad to see Wesley sell this but he has done some AMAZING work with his costumes as well as those of some of our Garrison mates.
When you can't run, you crawl, and when you can't do that, you find someone to carry you.
One so he used a foam support then put the scarves over it? Two what kind of foam did he use? Three and most enjoyable is way to quote a kick ass series. I wish Firefly had run more than a partial season.....
