Thread: Everything I need?

    Default Everything I need?

Salutations, this is my first post so please bear with me

I am wanting to start building a saber and this place rocks..that being said this is what I have come up with so far

    Double threaded hilt style 2
    MHS ribbed extension
Screw on LED blade holder style 12
    MPS pommel style 6
    Guarded switch silver
    TCSS machine covertech button
    8-32 socket head screw
    TCSS 8-32 x 1/2" thumb screw

do I have to also buy the machine switch hole in MHS section service to make the hole in the hilt 2 big enough for the guarded switch?

and do I have to buy the drill and tap service for the thumbscrew(which will be what secures my blade) and the socket head screw for the covertech?

also does anyone know how well the O-rings fit on the hilt style 2?

    Tsk tsk

    Bad newbie!

You didn't read this thread, did you?

You're missing a few things, including any mention of electronics.

Please go read through the above thread, edit your parts list,

then come back and ask if you have everything you need.

also does anyone know how well the O-rings fit on the hilt style 2? They fit fine.

I see you just registered within the last a few days. Please, please take the time to do some reading around the forums. Lots and lots of reading
first before you just jump into building your first saber.

You can avoid asking a bunch of noobish questions that way.

one question...I have dainty hands...and as such will be using a smaller then usual lightsaber, roughly 10 inches in total..is that going to be enough to fit an led and all the workings? I am not overly interested in a soundboard. I have looked around and found that the average saber is around 11-12 inches but people have managed to fit led workings into a 6 inch hilt...any thoughts?

if your looking for just an led, resistored and nothing else you could squeez that into a very small hilt. Figure bladeholder is 2 inches, you'll need some room for the switch, and the batteries.

My 1 1/2 year old has a saber that is about 9 inches with a choke and it has room extra room in it.
