Hi, I'm in the process of making my first led string blade with some 8mm blue leds. I'm going for what I believe is known as "seriallel" around these parts so I can run my segments on a 7.4v pack without having too much current.
I have 12 sets of 6 leds wired in parallel, with the intention of combining these into 6 segments, each consisting of 2 of the smaller segments wired in series.

I'm having a hard time visualizing how this should all get wired up. They way I have it in my head, the 6 sections are not actually connected at all via the leds, and are basically held "together" by the common negative wire that I will run.
I will land up with 7 wires, 1 positive to each section and the common negative wire.

Does this sound right?

If not, could some nice fellow maybe post a pic of how theirs looks wired up?

Much appreciated!
