You could try a lux 1 or seoul p4 for red, you wouldn't need a resistor then. At least thats what I've gathered from my reading.

I would use the Lux I instead of the LUX III

The lux I needs 350ma to be properly driven. As opposed to the Lux III which wants 1500ish ma.

The hasbro sound board gives off 350ish ma so you would have to use a relay setupto acheive the ful brightness of the lux III

a pic of a lux I red orange

I was told by someone very reputable here that with red oranges a lux 3 was brighter then p4. I know pics can be deceiving but that lux 1 looks bright!

No need for the n00b alert. You read, you didn't attack anybody, you found out for yourself and asked legitimate questions.

you will want to mount the relay on a small piece of PCB if you plan on dueling with you saber.

Relay's are pretty sensitive to cram-fu. make sure and mount it properly.

aside from that, I don't like the battle blades. They are to heavy and dim the blade considerably.
A "show" blade will work much better- trust me, you won't break it... (Unless you decide to try it out as a trampoline...)

They dont dim it considerably, only minorly, some leds you wont even notice much of a difference.

Show blades wont break but they will dent and bend.

And you cn run a luxIII red with a hasbro setup, use the outputs of the hasbro board as a relay to turn on a resistor or puck driven luxIII.

Simple, I thought this was common knolage on these forums?
