Cheap Hasbro Build (Version 2)
This is my second attempt at building a heavy duty saber for my 6 year old. The first one just didn't hold up ... and honestly, looked really crappy ...
So here is version 2.
Parts List:
Lux III Blue w/ 2.2 ohm 5W resistor (TCSS)
Heatsink (TCSS)
Premium Speaker (TCSS)
MHS Speaker Mount V2 (TCSS)
Quick disconnects (TCSS)
Style #10 screw in Blade holder (TCSS)
1.5 MHS to sink tube adapter (TCSS)
24" Initiate Blade (Not from TCSS ...)
Soundboard from a 2001 Count Dooku (Wal-Mart)
4 AAA battery pack (Radio Shack)
Red low profile Momentary switch (Radio Shack)
Sink Tube (Lowes)
Other parts: 2 Film canisters and short piece of 1.25 ID PVC

inserted the speaker and mount into the open end film canister and created a resonance chamber with the PVC. This along with the premium speaker made it much louder than the original. I was very pleased with the result !!

Taylor's saber completed next to an MR Darth Maul saber. The Blue LUX III didn't show up very well in the photo, but it is brighter than the MR saber.
Wiring instructions:
Black (-) wire from soundboard to negative on battery
Hot glue the Clash sensor to the sound board
Remove the stock momentary switch from the back of the board and solder in the switch wires. I used Yellow wire.
Red/White wires to speaker
Orange wire to Positive (on Battery pack) and also Positive on LED
Blue wire (Lamp) to negative on LED
The soundboard (with a 6V power source) puts out less than 5 Volts, so I'm not sure if you HAVE to use a resistor with this setup or not, but I did because without it the speaker had and odd buzzing sound during activation.
