Default best hasbro sound board, help needed!!!please

whats the best hasbro board to use? i would like to power a lux III or maybe k2 from the board
ive seen other threads about this and know it can be done
i do have a anakin saber with the red blue blade but im sure i read somewhere that this board is not so good, now is that because it runs off 3 aa whereas the led needs more voltage? or can i connect 4aaa to the board without damaging?

at the mo my custom saber has a white seoul p4 with its own driver and 4aaa and the board is running with 3aa
of course i'd prefer to run things from one power source!
if anyone could help that would be great!!

I actually killed one from a 2004 Kenobi ROTS board last night running 6 volts through.

My advice is stick to 4.5V, you'll still get the glow from a lux 3, and your board will still be very much amongst the living.

Good luck sourcing any other boards in the UK, it's been a mission for me without resorting to buying new full price sabers from the few places that still sell them!!

Apparently, the fully retractable bladed ones can run 6v, and is board of choice for most, though i'd still stick with 4.5V to be safe.

You won't get the kind of current out of a Hasbro board that you need to power a K2. Stick with an LED that needs 1000mA or less.

Hasbro Force Action sabers, aka, the $15-$25 ones, aka economy boards, can handle 6v. Rhyen Skytracker has done this with many, many, many sabers, and they all run fine. I have also used an economy board with 6v, and it works great. With the economy boards, you're better off using a Cree XR-E star for blue and green, and a Seoul P4 for red and white.

DON"T USE THE COLOR CHANGE ANAKIN!!!
The board is about 2x3" not kidding....

There are 3 sound "fonts" (if you even want to call them that) they vary from saber to saber...

IF you use a reed relay, you can make it so the LED recieves 100ma. But if not you need to use a CREE, or seoul P4

I just used a 2001 (Hasbro) Count Dooku and it's running a 6 volt supply (4 AAA) with a Blue LUX III running off the soundboard so I still get the powerup/powerdown and clash flash. It was by far the easiest I have done, a voltage regulator was not needed. I have fried probably 5 or 6 (Hasbro) boards in the last several months, so this board was a welcome change !!
