.45 Luke ANH lit up - blade added 1/8

Here's the second mini saber that I've converted. This one didn't come out as clean as my Obi, but the method for converting it is far better. I just messed up some of the cosmetics

It has a super bright 5mm blue LED and is powered by 2x N batteries.

Tactile switch is in the glass eye

thats pretty cool

do you have a blade made for it or is that in the works. I would be interested in what it looks like with a blade and maybe a comparison shot with some common object to give a better sense of scale.

pretty tight all together though.

I've been meaning to do one of these. With a LED strip instead of just one 5mm.

You want to do an LED strip in that scale? Do you realize that the inside a 1/2" polycarb tube is only 3/8" ID? Good luck on getting even 3mm LEDs and some kind if diffuser inside that.

And a 1/2" blade might look comparatively fat, a 3/8" blade might look better, but then your ID is only 1/4". Even SMT LEDs would be hard to do.

But go ahead and try it, let's see if you can do it.

I will be putting a 1/2" blade on this saber. Solid acrylic. The ring made by the bunny ears is a shade under 1/2", and they spring closed, so it will act as a clamp. Nothing duel worthy, but it will hold it in.

Just like how the real bulb clamps worked in the actual Graflex flash guns.

So I'm assuming you're going to have to sand down the end of the acrylic rod to fit, then.
