Question How to build a Crystal Chamber?

hey all, i saw on youtube earlier today, a vid of this guy showing off his crystal chamber he built and intalled into what looked like a MHS hilt. so what im asking is, does anyone have, or know where to find a schematic, template, dementions ect for this crystal chamber? (or one similar to it). the video can be found here:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWLCxtSREVE

    and more clearly here:

i also was wondering, in the comments he replied to someone and said he built it with a metal lathe. so i was wondering, can it be done with a wood lathe and other woodworking tools? such as a drill press, band saw, table saw, router ect. (im just talking about the chamber that holds the LED)

but anyways if anyone has any info or a place i can get some thatd be great.

    thanks

There is no real template possible as hilt configurations and sizes vary from saber to saber, this has been discussed quite a few times before...

Just come up with a design that works for you. Search "Crystal Chamber" here on the forums and do some reading for info.

All I can say is read read read and search search search. There are many people on here who have built crystal chambers. I think the windowed MHS parts are also meant so you can see the crystal housed in the hilt.

There is no set method for Crystal chambers. I have done many of them, and the only ones that I do that are the same every time are my choke chambers. I use a milling machine to do those. You dont need to have a lathe or mill to make a crystal chamber. There are many ways to make and secure a crystal. It just takes imagination and will.

    threaded rod.
brass rod (various diams & lengths)

    acrylic, plastic, delrin disks..

or another 'disk' liek object that can be drilled into..and has an OD of slightly under 1.25 (even more if you want to use it in a ribbed section, or even the crystal chamber MHS part...its ID is smller than normal MHS stock ID's)

    accent led bezels

    copper wire

nuts, speed nuts, acron nuts to fit your threaded rod sizes..

    wire

maybe some hot glue or JB quik?

Id say that about sums up everythign you'd need to make a nice one.

    wood tools = worthless

drill press will help....but handheld could be used as well (and a decent vice)

You can use sinktube with MHS adapters with the double male slots MHS piece for an easy chamber.

and do you hang/mount the crystal?

are we talking about the 'chamber' (ie: a windowed part?) or more of a core/chassis with the actual 'crystal'?..etc..etc

Yes; thank you xl97 for this list of parts, this is what I was looking for in another Crystal Chamber thread, but never seemed to materialise.

No, what i meant was the core/chassis as you would say it. umm basically the mount (for the actual crysal itself) that goes inside the hilt. thats what i meant when i said crystal chamber.
