Thanks. It won't be long before I attempt my second helmet build. It's my second try at a Blast Shield Helmet Replica. So we'll see how it turns out.

Thanks, I saw those flame decals at an auto parts store while I was looking for pin striping tape. I wanted to add something different that wasn't in the helmet kit's decals.
Just as long as it's not a bad omen for my X-Wing going down in flames.......

Yeah, the plain white helmets with the blue Rebel Birds on them are essentially equivalent to the red shirts on away missions in Star Trek.

...YUP!
OK, update.
I was going to keep the basic design and give my helmet a new paint job. However, my five year old nephew took one look at it and said it didn't look right (i.e. it didn't look like Luke's helmet), which got me to thinking. Most casual Star Wars fans only remember Luke's helmet. I came up with a design that looks like Luke's at a distance but up close it's custom.
Ok, now it looks like an X-Wing helmet. Good job.
I like it much better now.
The weathering is a lot better.

Thanks J-Lo
I'm particularly proud of the weathering. I practiced a lot before doing the helmet. My kitchen trash can and my miter box both got weathered as well.
I liked it before, but it looks even better now! Fantastic job there! Now I can't wait to start on my Blast Shield helmet!
