Um, if you are going direct drive, right from the battery to the LED (with the proper resistor) you will need a LATCHING switch, not a momentary. (Latching switches are used with just a buck puck, too. And with FX sound boards.)

Momentaries are only for certain sound boards, like the Ultrasound and the economy Hasbro boards.

to tell you the truth i don't even know what a buckpuck is for. I do know however that I could buy a small latching relay that I could engage with a montary switch.

Oh, that's right, you did mention a latching relay, sorry I forgot about that.

A buck puck is basically a simple driver that feeds the LED a constant voltage and makes more efficient use of the batteries.

A resistor just bleeds of excess voltage as heat, but doesn't keep the current at a constant rate, when the battery voltage starts to die, so does the current.

If that latching switch is 16 mm you can use this as a spacer. They work great. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Be...ches-P448.aspx

I love the illuminated switches, but I've never seen anybody use the touch switch before. I had an idea to build the saber Luke built when he turned Sith and that saber could only be activated by the force, so......my thought was to have something touched to activate that saber too.

I didn't know just a "touch switch" existed, so I say have something a lot of people don't have or use yet. Either way you'll love it.
